Fired and arrested July 20, 2026
Joshua Jordan Johnson was arrested and terminated alongside John McKenzie and Curtis Hoskins. Investigators accused them of using the Flock license plate reader system for personal reasons unrelated to law enforcement. Johnson faced charges of Misuse of License Plate Readers and Violation of Oath of Office. Charges are allegations, not convictions.

Only seven months with Richmond County
Georgia POST history obtained by Shields of Shame lists employment from December 20, 2025 to July 20, 2026. Johnson completed an 809-hour Basic Law Enforcement Training Course in December 2025. POST opened an investigation July 24, 2026. A September 11 snapshot showed File Review Required, an assigned ongoing investigation, no listed sanctions and active basic certification. These entries may have changed.

The search history remains the critical evidence
A secondary archive attributes more than 100 unauthorized searches to Johnson. The figure is not independently verified against the original Flock logs. Original records should establish the search timestamps, plates, case numbers, stated reasons and any exports or sharing.
Update: six Richmond County employees arrested
Jaquarius Yarbrough was arrested in June. Johnson, McKenzie and Hoskins followed July 20. Sean Morrow and Jose Luis Ferrer were arrested August 31, bringing the reported total to six. Sheriff Eugene Brantley disclosed September 4 that individual Flock searches had not previously required supervisor approval. The agency reportedly had roughly 330 users and nearly 200 cameras before restricting direct access to supervisors and intelligence personnel.
