The crash that followed him to work
According to the previously published Shields of Shame account of Georgia POST records, Brown was involved in a traffic collision in November 2020. Rather than remain at the location to resolve the crash, he continued driving to Augusta State Medical Prison, where he worked as a correctional officer. The other motorist followed him to the prison and contacted law enforcement.
Responding officers reportedly cited Brown for hit and run and following too closely. Brown reportedly told investigators he did not understand that he needed to stop and remain at the scene. That statement is attributed to the underlying case account, not presented as a verbatim interview quotation.
Criminal case and court outcome
The prior account reports that on January 15, 2021, Brown received a sentence of 24 months’ probation. The court-outcome image and GDIC image are provided below for readers to examine. The exact counts of conviction, court identifiers and sentencing conditions should be verified against the original court record before further characterizing the disposition.
Termination from Augusta State Medical Prison
Brown joined the prison on September 21, 2020. The previously published POST-based account reports that the Georgia Department of Corrections terminated him on April 13, 2021, citing employee standards of conduct and conduct bringing discredit upon the department. His tenure lasted less than seven months.
That account also says POST investigators attempted to contact Brown in September 2021, leaving a voicemail without receiving a response. An unanswered contact attempt should not be treated as an admission.
Georgia POST revocation
Georgia POST reportedly revoked Brown’s correctional-officer certification on April 23, 2022. Employment termination and certification revocation are separate actions: the prison ended his employment in 2021, while POST acted the following year.

What the documents establish — and what remains open
The existing published investigation describes the traffic citations, probation sentence, employment termination and subsequent POST revocation. The case does not establish that Brown committed misconduct involving incarcerated people or that he was accused of violence at the prison. The exact court charge dispositions and any appeal or later certification action require a fresh official-record check.
