Crystal L. Nash: Sergeant at Martin County Traffic Stop, Bodycam Evidence and FDLE Records

Crystal L. Nash, identified in a September 2024 Martin County Sheriff’s Office social-media post as a sergeant, appears in the broader investigation of a February 13, 2025 traffic stop at a Stuart gas station. WHAT WE CAN DOCUMENT

The agency’s September 12, 2024 Facebook post identifies Crystal Nash as a sergeant. A supplied body-camera still dated February 13, 2025, shows a uniformed deputy at the gas-station scene. The available materials do not independently establish Nash’s precise instructions, supervisory decisions or participation in the passenger’s arrest.

Who is Sergeant Crystal L. Nash?

Crystal L. Nash is associated with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. A supplied screenshot of an agency Facebook post dated September 12, 2024, names her as Sergeant Crystal Nash. That post supports her rank as described on that date; it does not establish her current rank or assignment.

The supplied photograph shows Nash beside a marked sheriff’s vehicle. Another supplied image shows Nash with Deputy Tatiana R. Levenar. Both are included here as visual records, not evidence of misconduct.

February 13, 2025: The Stuart traffic stop

The underlying incident, 2025-00021924, began at approximately 1:20 a.m. at a Wawa near 2401 South Kanner Highway, Stuart. Deputy Nicholas A. Thomas is identified as the primary unit in the dispatch record. The incident narrative describes alleged vehicle-equipment violations, a dispute over identifying passenger Giselle Flores, and her subsequent arrest. Those descriptions reflect the reporting deputy’s account rather than a court’s determination of legality.

Nash is named among officers in the investigator’s March 24, 2025 public-records request. That request asked for records concerning Nash, Levenar, Thomas and Tuttle. Being named in a records request does not itself prove that Nash initiated or controlled the traffic stop.

Body-camera evidence: Nash at the gas station

A supplied AXON BODY 3 still carries the timestamp February 13, 2025, 01:46:48 -0500. It shows a nighttime gas-station forecourt, a dark sedan, patrol vehicles and a uniformed sheriff’s deputy near a pump and column. The image was supplied as documentation of Nash’s presence. A single frame cannot show the full conversation or prove that the pictured officer gave any particular order.

What happened to the passenger’s citation?

A Martin County Clerk of Court docket for State of Florida v. Giselle Flores, 25003855TRAXMX lists the front-seat passenger seat-belt citation as “dismissed by officer.” The traffic case closed June 10, 2025. The docket also references a related misdemeanor case, 25-000531-MM, and contains a March 24 notation about a nolle prosequi letter. The related criminal docket must be examined separately before characterizing its complete outcome. The traffic citation’s dismissal does not, by itself, establish misconduct by Nash or another deputy.

The $10,300 Martin County records estimate

The March 24, 2025 public-records request sought Garrity or Miranda warnings, service photographs, AXON audit trails and public complaints concerning four named officers, including Nash. On April 8, the Sheriff’s Office issued an invoice for $10,300, accompanied by a demand for a 50% deposit. The estimate is not proof the amount was paid or that the fee was ruled unlawful.

The dispute raises questions about the scope of the search, the hours attributed to review and redaction, and whether the agency’s calculations were adequately explained. Our separate dossier includes the records-request chronology and supporting correspondence.

Questions that remain unanswered

  • What was Nash’s assignment and supervisory responsibility at the scene?
  • What did she personally say or do, as shown by the complete body-camera recordings?
  • Did Nash review, approve or participate in the passenger’s arrest?
  • Did she prepare a supplemental report or review another deputy’s report?
  • What do her FDLE training and employment records establish?
  • What additional agency records would clarify the stop and the $10,300 estimate?

Editorial standards and right of reply

Shields of Shame welcomes corrections, official records and responses from Crystal L. Nash and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. A person’s presence at a police encounter does not itself establish wrongdoing. This page distinguishes the agency’s published identification, the supplied still photograph, the officer’s incident narrative, the court’s traffic disposition and unresolved investigative questions.

October 2026 primary-record update

Important distinction: the CAD names four assigned units — Thomas, Levenar, Tuttle and Mogler — but does not list Crystal Nash among them. Nash’s association with the broader scene rests on separately supplied photographs and agency material; the CAD alone cannot establish her arrival or supervisory actions. The clerk’s traffic docket identifies Flores’s passenger seat-belt citation as dismissed by the officer, but the related misdemeanor case requires separate docket review.

Related: Read the expanded $10,300 records investigation. The March 24 request was narrowed on March 28 and March 31 before the April 8 invoice. The deposit letter claims 412 hours; its visible tasks itemize 208 hours 45 minutes of potentially chargeable work, plus a 30-minute meeting marked free. These figures require reconciliation, not an assumption of illegality.
