Leslie Gaiter Participating in suspicious activity

Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Augusta, Ga

On 10/22/2022 Leslie Gaiter, observed a Dodge Charger sitting in the parking lot of 3026 Washington Road. Gaiter claims he received a complaint from staff about the listed vehicle trespassing on the property and participating in suspicious activity.

Leslie Gaiter radioed for additional units and made contact with the three occupants that were sitting inside of vehicle. Leslie Gaiter claims he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. Gaiter asked the person sitting in the front drivers seat Harris Carias to step out of the vehicle. Mr. Carias stepped out of the vehicle and he then attempted to get back into the vehicle. Gaiter was able to place Mr. Carias in handcuffs due to his actions. After removing Mr. Carias from the vehicle he said that he had a firearm in his pocket. Gaiter pulled a black in color .38 caliber revolver from Mr. Carias’ right pocket of his shorts. Mr. Carias was sitting on a plastic ziploc bag which contained four individual bags of marijuana. Mr. Carias said,” everything that you found is mine”.

Gaiter located a pink zip pouch with empty sandwich bags. Corporal Mealing located a green clear plastic bag which contained a white crystal substance in between the driver seat and center console. Gaiter field tested the crystal substance and it tested positive for methamphetamine. Gaiter also field tested the other substances and it tested positive for marijuana. There was also a marijuana cigar that was split open next to the front driver seat.

The front seat passenger Chandler Parker and person sitting in the back right passenger seat Henry Henderson were detained.

Mr. Carias stated that his name was Emiliano Monocello. Gaiter arrived at the jail and confirmed with records Mr. Carias was lying about his name.

Emiliano Monocello was an alias name. Mr. Carias was finger printed at the jail and when the picture with his real name came back he said that he has a twin brother. Mr.Carias had multiple warrants through Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Carias was convicted of strong armed robbery 04/05/2011 in Broward County, Florida.

The firearm was filed under property receipt #514257 and the narcotics were filed under property receipt #514255. The incident was captured on BWC. Warrants will be signed on the accused.
