Quincy J Cannon
Quincy Cannon, a deputy with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, has been involved in several notable incidents. On December 15, 2022, Cannon, along with deputies Andrew Acosta and Robert Wilson, was arrested and charged with battery and violation of oath of office. These charges stem from an incident involving the alleged beating of a handcuffed suspect, Vernon Cratic, who was involved in an officer-involved shooting (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) (The Georgia Gazette).
In another development, Cannon’s name appeared in news reports from July 2023, where it was noted that a Richmond County grand jury refused to indict him and two other officers for the alleged beating incident, citing insufficient evidence(Georgia Bureau of Investigation).
