Jade Seymone Jackson — Albany Police Flock Investigation
On July 6, 2026, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of former Albany Police Department employee Jade Jackson following an internal audit of the agency’s Flock Safety license plate reader system. The agency announced two counts of Misuse of License Plate Data and one count of Violation of Oath of Office. These are allegations, not convictions.

Why the employment record matters
Shields of Shame’s previous examination of Georgia POST records identified Jackson’s Albany position as non-sworn cadet, beginning March 31, 2025 and ending July 6, 2026. Her historical certification record was reported as suspended with an investigation opened July 24, 2026. A suspension is not a final revocation. Current certification and court outcomes should be checked using updated records.

What the GBI announced
The GBI says Albany Police requested an investigation June 25, 2026 after an internal audit identified non-law-enforcement use of retained license plate data. Five former Albany employees were arrested July 6. The announcement did not specify whose plates Jackson allegedly searched, how many individual queries she made or what purpose she entered. Two criminal counts should not be equated with two searches.
The wider Albany investigation
The GBI also announced arrests of Tytianna Davis, Nicholas Richardson, Brittney Smith and Issac Whitus. The five faced a combined 21 misuse counts and five oath-of-office counts. Albany Police publicly distinguished three terminations associated with Flock misuse from two involving earlier unrelated policy violations, without identifying which category applied to Jackson. Individual personnel findings are needed to resolve that question.

Georgia POST certification and employment records are distinct from court records. An occupational suspension does not establish criminal guilt, and a pending investigation should not be described as a final revocation.
