CASE STATUS: CHARGED — NOT CONVICTED

The charges described here are allegations. No conviction or final criminal disposition was established by the sources reviewed on October 9, 2026.

The July 2026 Flock audit and arrests

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported that the Albany Police Department asked for an outside investigation on June 25, 2026, after an internal audit of its Flock Safety automatic license-plate reader system. The audit reportedly showed personnel accessed retained plate data on multiple occasions for non-law-enforcement purposes. On July 6, the GBI arrested five former Albany Police Department employees, including Jackson, and booked them into the Dougherty County Jail.

The GBI identified Jackson as 32 years old at the time and listed two misuse counts and one oath-of-office count. The agency did not publicly identify whose license plates Jackson allegedly searched or disclose a complete audit log in its announcement. The number of criminal counts should not be treated as a verified count of every search.

Georgia POST records: cadet status, termination and suspended certification

The Georgia POST record previously obtained by Shields of Shame describes Jackson’s position as a non-sworn cadet, with Albany Police employment beginning March 31, 2025, and termination recorded July 6, 2026. The historical report lists her basic law-enforcement certification as suspended pending POST sanction and a POST investigation opened July 24, 2026. These are details from the dated POST document, not a verified live status as of October 2026.

A non-sworn employment classification and a certification entry can coexist in an administrative profile. Neither by itself establishes precisely what police powers Jackson exercised during her employment.

Separate March 2026 patrol-car collision reported by WALB

In an additional public-record reporting lead, WALB reported that an Albany Police officer identified as Jade Jackson was involved in a March 17, 2026 traffic collision near Albany State University’s East Campus. According to Georgia State Patrol information cited by WALB, the police Ford Taurus and another vehicle collided at Radium Springs Road and Billy Black Drive, and both drivers were transported to a hospital. WALB’s report did not establish criminal wrongdoing by Jackson or say the crash was related to the later Flock allegations. The report’s named officer appears consistent with this case, but a direct identity match through personnel or crash records has not been independently confirmed by SOS in this update.

Other Albany personnel charged

The GBI also charged Tytianna Davis, Nicholas Richardson, Brittney Smith and Issac Whitus. The misuse counts varied by individual: Davis five, Richardson eleven, Smith one, and Whitus two; each also faced one violation-of-oath count. WALB reported that Albany Police terminated five employees following its administrative investigation, three for improper license-plate-reader use and two for other policy violations. That reporting does not specify which termination rationale applied to Jackson.

October 9, 2026 case update

A fresh review of the GBI’s July 6 announcement, WALB’s Albany reporting and July coverage by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution confirmed the original arrests, charge counts and department-wide Flock audit. The sources reviewed did not establish a later indictment, guilty plea, trial verdict, dismissal or final POST revocation involving Jackson. The original Georgia POST image remains a historical snapshot, not a current status certificate.

The GBI stated that the case would be submitted to the Dougherty Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review after its investigation. Shields of Shame will continue seeking court filings, the individual search audit, personnel records and updated POST actions.

What license-plate-reader misuse means

Flock Safety systems collect vehicle plate identifiers, timestamps and locations. A search can be useful in a legitimate investigation, but unauthorized access may expose the travel history of people who have never been accused of a crime. The public-interest questions include who approved access, whether searches were tied to real cases, and how quickly supervisors acted on audit flags.
