Violation Description
40-6-180 TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS
40-6-181 SPEEDING IN EXCESS OF MAXIMUM LIMITS 40-6-48 FAILURE TO MAINTAIN LANE
40-6-393(C) HOMICIDE BY VEHICLE (2ND DEGREE) 40-6-40 DRIVING ON WRONG SIDE OF ROADWAY
Vehicle 1 was traveling north on Smokey Rd. Vehicle 2 was traveling south on Smokey Rd. Driver 1 stated that he was going between 50 and 55 mph when vehicle 1 left the roadway partially on the right shoulder. Driver 1 further stated he lost control due the speed. Vehicle 1 crossed back over the roadway and into the southbound lane. Vehicle 1 struck vehicle 2 head on in the southbound lane of Smokey Rd. Vehicle 1 pushed vehicle 2 backward and they both came to rest in the southbound lane of Smokey Rd locked together. An independent investigation is being conducted by Troop B SCRT and this report will be amended with those findings. Investigation is recorded on 4RE-system.
